Sid Bernstein has been elevated to office
manager of Keystone Vending Co. and
Aaron Cooper has been promoted to record
buyer for the hundreds of machines oper-
ated by Keystone. This organization also
considerably boosted its tremendous route
by purchasing the numerous locations and
machin es of Modern Music Machines,
located on North Broad St., and owned by
Irv Newman, who will remain active in the
record business by opening a classy record
shop.
Vital statistics concerning local opera·
tors: Harry Sloan proudly boasting of th e
boy born to his wife at the Mt. Sinai Hos-
pital late in October, while Amusement
Machine Ass' n. secretary Jack Brandt is
also supremely happy concernin g the
blessed event at his home which increased
local jubBOYlation. Paul Cooper is an-
other glad pappy. Bill Rodstein, popularly
known as "Handsome Bill," is catching up
to kid-brother Al and expects to make an
announcement early next year, whether it's
a boy or girl.
Screwiest coin-machine announced in
town during the past month was the roll-
call device reportedly used at the U. of P.
for bringing in added coins for the treas-
ury. Device has a slot for each member,
who inserts a dime which lights a cartoon
of himself in the machin e. Secretary can
easily ch eck on absentees by glancing at
machine. Saves tedium of roll-call and adds
to funds.
Newest music operator is Sidney B.
Bernstein who has opened headquarters on
West Girard Ave. This section is rapidly
assumin g th e nature of an operator's haven,
since many tradesmen have their establish-
ments within a five block area ranging
from 8th and Girard to Broad St.

Another new liquid vending company
has been organized by George B. Walters,
Jr., who opened quarters at 19th an d Nor-
ris Sts. for a firm operating as Self Service
Beverage Co.
Most heavily played tune in all music
machin es is Glenn Miller's "Chattanooga
Choo Choo" while Freddy Martin's popu-
