Two New Games
CHICAGO - Accor din g to Gro etchen

leading di'stributors on the two new ga mes,
Klix and Pok-O-Reel.
Klix is Groetch en's new Blackjack game,
and Pok-O-Reel is th e sensational 5-reel
card game. Both of these models are equip-
ped with the new super type coin divider
which insures absolute accuracy in divert-
in g 75 percent of the receipts into th e loca-
tion cash box and 25 percent into the large
operator's cash box.
Klix has been termed th e "hi gh profit
potency ga me of '41." Th e first two reels
show " deal" to player who then can trip
one or two shutters to disclose additional
cards. " House" reel shows hand whi ch
player must beat to receive award.
Both machines are fini shed in an elegant
streamlined hammerloid cabinet with a
chrom e trim and a red "radiator grill
front,"-truly th e ultimate in modern de-
sign. Both are available in straight penny
or nickel play with visibl e gum vendor
stand ard equipment on all models.
Production, accordin g to company offi-
cials, has been geared to the highest point

to take care of th e heavy demand.

The "celesti al blueprint" - other~ise
known as the horoscope, of Mr. Ri chard
Groetchen, president of th e Groetchen Tool
Company, reveals many interesting quali-
ti es. He was born on F ebruary 9th, with
the Sun in Aquarius-also Mercury and
Venus in th e sam e pro gressive sign. This
makes him sympath etic, humanitarian -
willin g to li ve and let live-giving people
th e benefit of the doubt rath er than con-
demning them. Cautious, steady, and hi ghly
intuitive, he has strong likes and dislikes,
and is very radi cal and advan ced in his
ideas. Slow to anger, he is easily influenced
by kindn ess. He will go out of hi s way to
help those in need- getting a great sense
of personal sa ti sfa ction-even without any
ex pression of gratitude-from those he
helps. Hi s mind is hi ghly critical and keen
in judgment of human na ture. Other as-
pects in hi s natal constell ation confer quick
kee n intell ect, makin g him mentally co m-
bative and fo rceful. He undoubtedly can
write and speak well , and is fond of rea d-
in g, travel, science, or chemistry. He has a
mind th a t is mecha ni cal, inventive and in-
ge ni ;i us.
Completely co ntradi ctory to all of this,
he has four pl anets in what is known as
"earth signs"-whi ch add a very practical

which has undoubtedly served him well in
his lon g and successful career. He has a
natu ral fa culty of handlin g employees suc-
cessfully- making th em love him. Th ey will
go out of their wa y to serve him faithfully,
and well, for they know they ca n depend
upon him for coop eration and a pprecia tion.
H e in turn has benefited consid erably
through th eir efforts.
Mr. Groetchen is a curious combination
of sentiment and practicability- he can be
very altruistic and very material, alter-
nately. He can be " penny wi se and pound
fool ish"-very generous with those he loves
-very practi cal in his business contacts-
very dependable in his promises. He has
unusual vision of the future-seein g human
progress far in advance of his associates.
Th e immediate futur e promises many in-
terestin g and gratifying developments fo r
Mr. Gro etchen, but everythin g depends
upon hi s degree of preparedn ess as to how
much he will benefit by certain opportun-

Southwest Goes For
Groetchen Machines
CHICAGO- Ed Hanson, Sales Man ager
for th e Gro etchen Tool Company, who has
recently returned from an extensive 4,000
mil e trip through the Southwest, reports a
tremendous reception being given Klix,
Pok-O-Reel and Yankee.
Klix, Groetchen's new Blackjack Gam e
with coin divider, and Pok-O-Reel were en-
thu siastically endorsed by leading distribu-
tors and operators, stated Hanson.
A. H. Shannon of Coin Machin e Sales
in Houston, declared, "Th ese are three of
th e fin est counter games I have ever seen.
Th at 'Double Head' feature of Yankee is
unb eatable. It's almost unb elievabl e th at
a counter machine can be changed from
cigarette to fruit, or vice versa, in a few
moment's tim e, yet I have to beli eve my
own eyes. The new improved type coin
dividers you are featurin g in Klix, Pok-O-
Reel and Yankee are certainly going to
make a bi g hit with operators."
Although no form al announcement has
yet been mad e to the trade, orders fo r
several thousa nd Yankee machin es have
already been booked, added Hanson, and it
is expected that Yankee will surpass the
popula rity of Groetchen's Imp Gum Vendor.
Other Groetchen games bein g success-
full y operated in th e Southwest are Lib erty,
Mercury, Sparks and the new Champion ,

along with th e ever popular Imp.
brand-new kind of enterta inm ent with un-
limited variety of action resultin g in a
continually-increased interest."
Hanson reports th at heavy stocks of
Pike's P eak are on th eir way to all dis-
tributors, and th at delays a re virtually at
an end.
