Spotting the N. Y. Operators

Hold on, fellow s, while we shake the

of our hair and brush these blonde
Jocks off our coat before the wife catches

Novelty C o., phonograph operating firm ,
for Henry w a s a lw ays such a demo-
cratic guy. What 's ihat? Ah, so that's
it! Henry has just b e come the father of
a baby girl. Gangw ay, folk s, gang-

The sea son has arrived early this
y e ar. Here is poor Matthew Forbes,
field manager of the CMA of New York,
right in the middle of things, a nd Miss
Eleanor Schacter, his office assistant,
ups and marries on him. Best w ishes,
Eleanor, and don't forget the pie ce of
wedding cake we were promised, Inci-
dentally, who was the lucky man?
The Mutt ·and Jeff combination spot-
ted at the Chicago Show was made up
of Lee Rubinow a nd Sidney Levine, both
of New York's Music Ope rators' Associa-
tion. Lee re ports tha t he always takes
little fellow s along for protection-it
seems no one picks on them. As for
Levine, nimble attorney for the music
folk , he reiterate s the fact that the big-
ger they come the harder they fall. Both
me n say they had a great time and re-
port that th ey picked up quite a few
points . .. Let's let it go at that.

tic New York, Supreme Vending 's Willie
Blatt recently said goodbye to all the
prospective Eskimos in this territory.
During his vacation the "Little Napo-

Bobby Blessing, who swings a mean
typewriter for the Automatic Music Op-

mow 'em down when doing a vaudeville
act, is hors de combat, as they say in
the stick s. We 're rooting for y ou , Bob-

wow 'em for a quick return.
What 's thi s rumor about Al Bloom's
being the handsomest music operator?
Up and at 'em, boys! And how about
the cigarette and pinball crowds? Sure-
ly they have a candidate who can
match Al 's statuesque height and tou-
sled blond hair!
Anybody seen Winchell lately? We
hate to be scooping him all the time,
but if he will pass up those keyholes . ..
At any rate it's about the Allen Jacobs
(he of the Aljac outfit) . That's right,
that bundle from heaven, and pretty
soon, too.
Is it our nose for news, or is it just a
little birdie that tells us Irvinq Silver-
man is due for headline stuff? Come out
with it, Irvi:ng, we 're listening. You
ought to know you can't keep a nything
from the press and old "hi.int-'em-down

Add tough bre<;ik: One of the cars

to do, too, next time.
New York operators returned very
mu ch impressed by the NACOMM Show
in Chicago. Ma nu fa cturers, they re-

Martin Berger, CMA of New York

idea, Rose explained, that once a piece
of eq uipment is placed and is mechani-

of letting it go at that, Rose a dvised,
"become a frien d of the location owner.
Make him what his location really en-
titles him to be-a partner in your busi-

Little Boy: Daddy, look! There's San-
ta Claus.
Dadd y: Hush , child, that isn 't Santa
Claus, that' s Sam Yellen looking for a
s pot.

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS
Little Boy: And w ho 's that beside
him? He's carrying a tricycle, daddy.
Daddy: That, my dear child, is Jack-
son Bloom. You see, young man, Y ollen
a nd Bloom know that spots are pretty
hard to find so they both put on beards
and old clothes hoping that wouki get
'em by.
Little Boy: And will it- g e t 'em by?
Daddy: If it did, son, that would make
them Santa Cla us!
And be it here recorded: Irving Sher-
m a n sends greetings and best wishes
for a Happy New Year to all, and sends
the same greetings to coinmen every-
where on behalf of the operators in New
York.
