PROVIDENCE, R. I.-At a state gath-
ering of coin machine men here May 17th,
Ralph T. Young of Norwood, Ohio, chair-
man of the organization committee of the
National Association of Coin Machine Op-
erators completed th e first leg of an eastern
tour of state organ izations.
Young started the sw ing May 10th at
Baltimore, and hi s itinerary included Pbil-
adelphia May 11th, Newark, N. J., on the
12th, New York on the 13th and 14th, and

LOS ANGELES-O pera tors throughout
the West are looking forward to the an-
nual Paci fic Coast Coin Machine Expo-
sition, to be held here in September, as
an event which will ga in publi c recogni-
tion of th e coin machine industry as a
valuable and leg itim ate en terprise in th e
entertainm ent and ervi ce fields_
While leadin g magazines and newspa-
pers throughout th e cou ntry are favorably
publi c izing the industry's efforts to raise
il s standards, the operators beli eve that it
I akes an outstanding event of the magni-
tud e of th e Coast Show to impress the pub-
lic with the importance of th e services
rend ered by coin-controlled equipment.
At tracts W ide Attention
J n arranging to stage the ex hibit at th e
Ambassador Hotel, the finest in luxurious
appointments and co nvention fa cilities in
the West, the show committee realized
I hat this featur e alone would attract favor-
able attention in newspapers and, in turn,
of the many business men, location owners
and others, with whom the operators come
in contact. In addition, a gathering of op-
eralors, jobbers and manufacturers such
as i to be held at the Coast Show will
impress legislators that they a~e dealing
with bona fide business men when they
enact laws which license and protect coin
ma chin es.
Th e ex position will be held September
9, ]0 and 11th in the Ambassador Audi-
torium , a huge display hall in which
150 booths will be arranged amid elab-
orate decoration s and startling lighting ef-
f ects throughout th e 30,000 square feet of
floor space. Th e auditorium adjoins the ho -
tel in th e center of a 22-acre park which
is convenient to down-town Lo s Angeles
but just out of th e congested traffic area.
Sizzli n g Entertainment
Th e hotel, of co urse, will b e the center
of activity for operators' meetings, confer-
ences, and social affairs. Use of the Am-
bassador's private theater, with its leather
divans, and other conference rooms, has
been reserved for coin machine men for
Ih e duration of th e show. In addition,
I here will be dinner parties in the famous
Cocoanut Grove, where two world-renowned
dan ce orchestras broadcast nightly and
film stars mingl\l with the smart set. Many
gay groups will gather at the tables and
elaborate bar of the Tzigane Room to ce-
ment friendships over tinkling glasses, or
