THE FAMOUS
Mr. Farny R. Wurlitzer, president
of the Wurlitzer Company, opened
the business session with a welcom-
ing address which' foretold many of
the things the company is doing and
has in mind for further concentration
of Simplex phonograph business with
the operators.
Homer E. Capehart, general sales
manager, made full use of the time,
presenting to his organization the
merchandising policies of the com-
pany in the distribution of the Sim-
pLex phonograph. The many things
the company is doing to give phono-
graph operators the most outstand-
ing instrument for their needs were
pointed out and thoroughly covered
during the remaining business ses-
sions.
In commenting on the policy of
confining the sale of the Wurlitzer
Simplex to phonograph operators Mr.
Capehart said:
"We believe in the phonograph op-
erators of America. They are the
logical ones to handle coin controlled
music equipment. Operating is their
one and 'only business and they know
their business.
"Music is in universal demand. It
has always produced good profits in
the coin operated field. It is funda-
mentally right that the coin machine
operator should handle the distribu-
tion of music vendors.
