You'll Cross • the Threshold
Of a New Day, December 14
December 14 \vill be a red letter day in the coin machine
man's calendar. On that day the curtain will rise on the
first National all automatic merchandising show and con-
vention. The show committees have done an outstanding
job in the projection of this event.
As an exposition it will break with tradition in many
respects. It will be more than a conglomerate display of
vending equipment. The exhibits are styled to fit the new
equipment into the broader concepts of merchandising.
As a convention the program will depart even farther
from standard conventipn routine. While there will be
certain key talks, no speechs of self-emulation or pro-
motional nature will be scheduled. On the contrary thEJ
committee has selected for the key talks qualified authori-
ties in their fields. As pointed out in these columns last
issue the show will be a truly automatic merchandising
show since exhibits and counsel have been drawn from the
merchandising and supply world. Visiting operators will
_not only see machines of a wide range of vending uses
but tliey will also see merchandise and learn how to
analyze it, how to market it from a consumer point of
view.
This show will attract no less that 12,000 visitors many
of whom are new to the industry. An undetermined number
of merchandising factors will be among the visitors.

We can pass over the standard coi\l ·m~chine features of
this show inasmuch as they are too well known to bear
emphasis-but no one who has. given new day merchandis-
ing the least thought can fail to recognize the trends this
show will set in motion,
It has been apparent for months that certain definite
trends and expansions of this industry were beginning to
take form. The crystalization of interest at this show may
well start a boom in production, distribution and operation
of automatic merchandising equipment. Your automatic
store is here and will surge ahead from December 14 on.
No coin machine man can. afford to . miss this event.
