Despite the tragic life of Abraham Lincoln history has probably been kinder to his mem
ory than most of the world’s heroes. The Century of Progress has reproduced in an im
posing spectacle the principal buildings and other scenes important in the Great Eman
cipator’s life. The cabin which was his birthplace is there reconstructed in its original
features in every detail. The Rutledge Tavern of Salem, III., is also there. The famous
Wigwam Convention Hall where Lincoln received his nomination for President of the
United States in 1860 -is reproduced also. See this magnificent exhibit and , if possible, by
all means see the two magnificent statues by Augustus Saint Gaudens in Lincoln Park,
two of the greatest pieces of sculpture in the history of Modern art.
