A group of Chinese boys were
discussing the relative merits of
the two billboards, one advertis­
ing Carnation Milk and the other
Bull Durham. One of the boys
was explaining the signs to the
other in this way: “In America
they have he cows and she cows.
The she cow gives the milk and
the he cow gives the tobacco.”

First Operator—My wife just got
a new baby.
Second Operator—How is your
wife?
First Operator—Oh, she’s holding
her own.
Missing—A gold watch by a lady with
a Swiss movement.
Father—Don’t you know that you
can’t support my daughter until you
go to work and earn a salary?
Suitor—Oh, I don’t want to sup­
port her; I only want to marry her.
"There’s too much eavesdropping go­
ing on around here,” said the operator
as he shook his fist at the pigeon.
Neighbor—Your husband’s bathing
suit was washed ashore.
Wife—Oh, he’ll buy another one.
Neighbor—Yes, but, your husband
was in it.
His Keeper—You will have to work
here, Johnny, but you may select any
trade you wish.
The Convict—Well sir, if it’s all the
same to you, I ’d like to be a sailor.

Bally Manufacturing Organization
The Four Horsemen Swing Ballyhoo Into "High 9.9

/T*HE newest pin game to be intro­
duced in the coin-operated field is
Ballyhoo. Although this new game
was not announced until the appear­
ance of the January issue of T he C oin
M achine J ournal , Ballyhoo has al­
ready demonstrated that it will be­
come an outstanding success.
On January 10, Ballyhoo was pro­
nounced perfect and a large organiza­
tion was formed for its manufacture
and merchandising on a quantity basis.
The new company, with headquar­
ters in Chicago, was named the Bally
Manufacturing Company and Ray T.
Moloney was made president.

operators and distributors for a great
many years. He started in the game
’way back in the days when pushcarts
were new. He helped give impetus to
the rapid growth in popularity of the
punch board. He has worked with op­
erators in the distribution of vending
machines, skill games and amusement
devices of practically every kind.
Another outstanding member of the
Bally organization is James M. Buck­
ley, or just plain “Jim,” as he is known
to hundreds of operators throughout
the country. Jim will have charge of
sales and merchandising for the new
company. If you call at the Bally sales
office, it’s Jim who will greet you and
extend his good right hand in welcome.
The Bally Manufacturing Company
feel exceptionally fortunate in having
with them Patrick Millette, formerly
superintendent of production for the
Grigsby-Grunow Company, manufac­
turers of the nationally known Majes­
tic Radio. Mr. Millette has complete
charge of the production of Ballyhoo.
Among other members of the Bally
organization is Alfred E. Fox, who will
hold the position of advertising man­
ager. Mr. Fox has had nearly fifteen
years of experience in advertising and
sales promotion. He has been asso­
ciated with leading advertising agen­
cies as well as with manufacturers.
