JACK NELSON RESIGNS
Marble Supplier Tells
His Side of the Deal
In the November - December
issue of Automatic Age, we
printed a letter from an opera
tor because it illustrated the
advisability of doing business
on facts. W e said it then, and
we repeat — Automatic Age
has always stood for fair play;
it puts its weight on equitable
dealings. Here is what the mar
ble supplier writes:
Dear Sir:
In the recent issue of Auto
matic Age I was surprised to
read a l e t t e r from a Jack
Burns explaining how he was
on the wrong end of buying
marbles from the Penny King
Co.
I am surprised t h a t y o u
would print such a letter with
out first writing to us to find
out the facts in the case. In the
first place I have never quoted
prices on m a r b l e s by the
pound. So the first part of his
letter is a lie. I am enclosing
my correspondence with this

for 20,000 marbles. Before I
make any shipments to opera
tors I always send them sam

that it is similiar to the 195.
count ball gum, and also sam
ples of the 5 /8 size and also
explain that on using this size
with Master machines it is ne
cessary to make some minor
adjustments.
As far as the boxes being
damaged when received, you
know as well as any other per
son that the freight company
is to blame, and when proper
claim is made to them they will
pay for any loss.
I feel that this letter and
your remarks concerning it was
very bad on my part and trust

Jack Nelson, vice president and
general sales manager of the
Rock-Ola Manufacturing Cor

with the coin machine trade in
all its branches is nation-wide.
It has been said that he knows
more coin men by their first
names than any other person
in the business. Announcement
of his new conection will be
made after a short sojourn to
Florida.
Automatic Age passes on to
its readers the following obser
vation by Jack Nelson about
the coin-operated machine in
