M USICAL
The electrical storm that deco
rated Millstadt, 111., early in
August found the town rather
quiet in the wee small hours, and
one flash of lightning decided it
wanted music. So it struck an
outdoor wall box that operates
one of the phonographs in Oscar
Leiber’s tavern. The switch
melted and the phonograph
played. Leiber, who had retired
after closing the place for the
night, was roused and stopped
the free play.
