Proprietors of these places say
Wurlitzer music attracts customers
and entertains them so well that they
stay longer and often order more re
freshments just for an excuse to sit
and listen to the music.
Meter Receipts Low
City Blames Heat

D R IV E -IN
Saginaw, Mich.— Recent hot spells
have been blamed for the low receipts
taken from downtown meters in Sagi
naw.
The temperature has been
crowding 100 degrees.
When the season’s high of 98 de
grees was l'ecorded, collections for
the day were only $78.79 from 308
meters— or about 25 Vs cents from
each meter. This is well under any
previous day’s receipts since the
meters were installed here three
months ago.

One of California's livest Drive-In
Stands is Mei-le’s at Long Beach. Do
ing a thriving business, this attrac
tive deluxe stand offers its patrons
automatic music with a Wurlitzer
Counter Model 17.
Placed in this location by Thomp
son Bros., Long Beach Wurlitzer
Music Merchants, they report that it
has proved a tremendous help in en
tertaining customers and a very de
cided business asset.
In fact, Thompson Bros, say all
Drive-In Stands are naturals for
Wurlitzer Counter Model music and
they’re after them hot and heavy.

May Decide To Try
Meters In Kewanee
Kewanee, 111. — The City Council
has taken under consideration the
idea of experimenting with parking
meters here. Citizens of the town
are urged to express their views on
the use of meters by writing to the
Council. In this way, a better cross
section of opinion can be obtained.
