Columbia has no coin tubes or slides; instead coins arc
stored and carried in a horizontal wheel-type magazine
with 80 partitions; coins standing on edge within individ
ual compartments. No coin touches the next one, worn
coins work equally as well as coins fresh from the mint.
Positively correct number of coins paid out every time.
M e th o d nf O p e ra tio n :
Coins are inserted through gooseneck coin chute where
they are checked for correct size; after releasing mechan
ism for play, they drop into rotary escalator which shows
last six coins played at all times. From last station in
escalator, coins drop into the 80 station rotary coin maga
zine. At each play this coin magazine moves one notch to
the right, whenever there is a payout, it moves a corre
sponding number of notches to the left, and the correct
number of coins is ejected into the payout funnel by a cam.
Once the coin magazine is completely filled (80 coins), the
coins overflow into the Jackpot loading chute which keeps
both Jackpots loaded, a certain percentage of coins go
into cash box while Jackpots are being loaded; once Jack
pots are full, all coins go into cash box.
Each Columbia plays Pennies, ISickels, Dimes and Quarters
Change from one kind of coin to another can be made
right on location, within less than five minutes.
Only two parts are required to make change from one
coin to another, no experience is required.
Columbia (iivrx Punitive Protection AgaiiiHt Kiugx
Columbia pays out first the coins which have been in
serted last, after they have passed thru escalator. This
means that any player who plays slugs in Columbia and
hits a winner, is paid in his own slugs. Just like paying
from the “top of the tube” in other make Bells. Figure
the extra profits from slug elimination alone.
'
Double Jackpot* Pay Alternating!)
Columbia has two flashy Jackpots side by side. Jackpots
pay alternatingly left and right; reload automatically.
Jackpot capacity adjustable.
Because Jackpots on Columbia may be loaded with Dimes
or Quarters, Nickels or Pennies, they are adjustable in
capacity, simply turn hexagon nut shown in illustration.
Top capacity: 40 Quarters, 60 Nickels or 100 Dimes each
side. Contents of Jackpot paid in addition to 20 payout
from magazine, on three bar combination.
F o r e ig n C o in s
Columbia can be
operated with 3d,
6d, 1 shilling, 1
fra n c, or any
coin no larger than
26 rn/ni diameter.
RUGGED STRENGTH
Columbia is built strong enough to withstand
the grip oj a prize fighter; its mechanism is
protected against rough play by safety
ratchets and s/>ecially constructed slip
clutch on handle.
Plavers, especially lAidies. like the
easy action of the gearshift type
handle, the non-tiring, swift
play, which keeps Columbia in
operation hour after hour.
