lowing this method, of placing in the loca
tion as many different machines as the
location can successfully handle, not only
profit themselves by it, but also gave the
location the opportunity to make every cent
that was possible from his trade via coin
machines belonging to the same operator,
and not to three or four different fellows
who sooner or later might engage in mis
understandings of some sort, unprofitable
to all.
Promote New Locations Through
Your Present Spots
A s you gain the location’s confidence ask
the merchant to give you the names and
addresses of some friends he may have in
other sections of the city who would be
interested in making a little extra money
With the aid of coin machines which you
are willing to install in their stores on
the profit-sharing basis. You will find the
merchant agreeable to give you the names
of his friends and in many cases relatives
also in business. W e know of an operator
who secured most of the sixty locations
in his town through this process of one
merchant recommending another and so on
down the line.
In expanding in this manner, you will
find many merchants who might be willing
to give you names of their friends in busi
ness, but who would object to your giving
their names to these prospects. Profit by
the confidence these merchants place in
you.
Secure the name or names of the
prospective locations, but under no circum
stances because of your anxiety to place
one more machine, mention the name of
the first merchant who referred you to the
prospective new location; it might cause
you to lose some business if you do.
It Pays to Operate the Best and
Newest Machines
Another important point to keep your
locations loyal to you, is to always give
them the best kind of coin machine equip
ment you can afford. It is to your advan
tage to have in all locations the best and
latest machines available.
The best and
latest machine in any location, will guaran
tee you a maximum income with minimum
expense and bother.
Further, the location will be contented
and proud to have a new, good looking,
attractive, and profitable machine in the
store, rather than an old dilap dated model
which will rattle, click, and bounce every
© International Arcade Museum
time it is played, frequently going on strike
or refusing to run when the play is heaviest.
This sort of thing, automatically instills
distrust in the public’s mind and instead
of being an asset and an attractive orna
ment for the store, it becomes a liability,
probably giving the place the appearance
of an “antique shoppe.”
Our final recommendation is for you to
keep uppermost in your mind the all im
portant question o f giving your locations
the most efficient service, to keep them
happy and loyal to you, at all times. All
this means a lot more money in your
pocket.
Veteran Mechandiser
Enters Field
Mr. S. S. Hewitt, formerly with the
Gulbransen Piano Company and the Gard-
ner-Wells Company, radio manufacturers,
recently entered the amusement machine
field
and
announced his
new
games
“ Wampum-Bank” last month. Mr. Hewitt
brings a wealth of merchandising and
manufacturing experience to the coin
machine manufacturing field.
“ Wampum-Bank” boasts two new princi
ples in amusement tables. The plunger is
so constructed that the ball does not rest
against it. This enables the player to better
gauge the force needed to drive the ball
for certain pockets. The other outstanding
feature is that the player can bank the
ball in any direction, making it possible
to a'm for certain pockets.
Hotdog: “ So you found a use for your
old razor blaes?”
Tamale: “ Yeah, I stuffed a sofa pillow
with them and gave it to my mother-in-law
for a birthday present.”
