all kinds automatically and catering
to a great extent to the neighbor

being carried on in other lines o f

the Autosaleshops will truly present
a new mode o f merchandising as it
will cater to the buyer o f small pack

Mans Efforts in
Reducing Labor
In announcing the combination o f
companies which operate
throughout the country automatic
machines from which various articles
and merchandise is delivered to any
one dropping money into them, the
promoters intimated they have a vi
sion o f the time when there will be
automatic department stores, with
electric men or “ R obots” acting as
salesmen, A t the pace the mechani
zation o f industry and business is
proceeding, machine operated stores
do not seem like the fantasy o f a fic
tion writer. E lectricity has already
made housekeeping a mere matter o f
pushing a button, if all the devices
which can be employed are installed
in the home.
A fter having been a drudge to his
necessities fo r centuries, man is now
bending his thoughts to saving him
self labor. He has reduced the efforts
he once had to put forth to produce
what he wanted and is cutting down
his hours o f work.
