One o f the oustanding characters
o f the coin-machine trade is Thomas
W atling, o f the W atling Manufactur­
ing Co.
Mr. W atling is the father o f eleven
children, and when he started out
he made up his mind to quit working
at fifty, and. every time the stork
perched on his fence, he said, “ Well,
I ’ll have to increase my incom e” —
and he did. And when he reached
the fifty mark, he was just beginning
to like his job, and he is still in the
harness.

The only thing in the four Gospels
to which Hindus invariably take ex ­
ception is the killing o f the fatted
calf. This is because they regard the

An old English couple dwell un-

inscriptions, which are stone carvings
believed to be at least 3,000 years
old.

Treasury, the largest supply o f mone­
tary gold ever accumulated by any
country in the history o f the world,
a total o f $4,598,782,795, was held in
American vaults on April 1 o f this
year. This is about half o f all the
gold in the world.
