This Is an
Organization Number
Two articles of interest this month
are: the Constitution and By-Laws of the National Vending Ma
chine Operators’ Association and The Association o f American
Vending Machine Manufacturers respectively.
The operators have made considerable progress since the first
national convention at Chicago last March.
The manufacturers started off with a fine organization and have
greatly enlarged their activities during the past six months.
However, the organizations are, neither of them as yet, unani
mously representative.
No manufacturer, however large or small, should be without the
organization. For months various manufacturing interests urged
the Automatic Age to advocate a National Vending Machine body.
Many operators also voiced a desire to see the National Operators
Association enlarged to include every available local body, and to
become members of a mutually beneficial national body. The
Automatic Age gave its support to these good movements, and the
two branches started under way almost simultaneously. The re
sult was the two national conventions and the first big exposition

of coin operated machines at the Great Northern Hotel in Chicago
last March.
Both organizations have a definitely constructive program under
way for the growth and betterment of the coin machine business.
Every factor and type of machine is represented. All that is
needed is the enrollment of a few of the stragglers in the trade,
both operators and manufacturers into their respective branches
or associations.
The financial requirements are negligible. In fact less than in
the average trade body where the benefits are not nearly so
apparent.
Whether you are an operator or manufacturer you need the
association. The associations will and can function without you.
But to derive your just benefits you should place yourself in line
with the leaders.
Read the constitution and by-laws of these two associations. See
for yourself just what good a few dollars and the right spirit will
bring you. Then join, now!
Secretary A. W. Blendow will answer any inquiries regarding
the manufacturers association. Operators should write Secretary
George A. Grastorf, relative to the operators association.
Operators Are
Beginning to Write Us
About the next convention. The
next convention and exposition of vending machines will be held
in New York City. The exact dates and place will be announced
next month.
One operator writes he is going to be on hand and bring a friend
with him. He says he made some good buys at the last convention
and is looking for some new machines at the New York show.
Another, who called on us recently from one of the large
Western cities said he and his brother will be there with their
families.
A foreign operator writes asking about the convention and indi
cates a desire to attend.
Detroit is planning a special car as the local organization is
very active. N. T. Ponta and Henry Lemke say they are going to
lead a movement to get the convention to Detroit next year.
There is going to be something doing in New York for every
body. It is going to be a good year in 1927 and a good show.
