An Operators
Experience Meeting
W e do not know how many of out*
Irish friends have attended an old time Methodist testimonial
meeting. That is a meeting where one is supposed to get up and
give their experience in what the good Lord has done for them.
Those who are backward simply get up and say “ I love the Lord
because he first loved me.1’ While others who are more garrulous
go into lengthy discussions on their experiences.
Well, a session has been set aside on the program of the National
Operator’s Association which is called an experience meeting.
There is no body on the program for a set speech. But everybody
will be given an opportunity to tell any interesting experiences
they have had in the operating business. A time limit may be
put on speeches, but there will be plenty of opportunity for every
body to have the floor.
This will be a good chance to come and help give your ideas to
the other fellow, and certainly to listen to others in the trade. An
other interesting feature of the convention will be the Question
Box. A box will be provided where the delegates may place their

questions of all kinds. These will be opened at a certain session and
no other business Will be in order before the convention but to
obtain the best answers to these questions. If you have any
problems here is a ehonce to get a hundred dollars worth of expe
rience for a song.
This Big Issue
Is Designed to Enthuse
the operators who receive it to
make the final decision about coming to the convention. It seems
that mankind is afflicted with a universal malady known as ‘inde
cision.’ W e are all inclined to think we are going to do some
thing, yet it is hard for us to come to action, '
W e were very desirous of getting out such a good issue that it
would infuse the readers with enthusiasm. W e know how the
spirit of this big convention will send them home inspired to make
niore money, and we wanted to do something to start an irresist-
able urge to entrain for Chicago. We would almost guarantee to
rebate the expenses of any operator who comes to this convention
and who, when he is ready to start home, feels that he has not
had his money’s worth.
Since we have been publishing THE AUTOM ATIC AGE we
have been constantly and pleasingly surprised to find the live-wire
men that are engaged in this industry. Some how or other it is
ai1 attractive game and it appeals to men of capacity and ability.
You are going to meet those kind of men at the convention and you
never regret coming. On the other hand you will never miss
another one after you realize what you learned at this one.
Entirely Aside
From the Convention
it is worth while to come to Chicago.
This, is the fourth city of the world in population and importance.
There are more coin-controlled machines, and a wider variety of
them made in Chicago than all the rest of the country combined,
Most eveiybody has business in Chicago; and now is the time
to make up your mind to make your annual trip, and combine bus-
lness with convention activities.
