trotypes at cost price, and give you prices that you can
make money— only takes a little space. Others are doing it.

We do not sell your customers, we sell wholesale firms
and large operators only, and you can charge any price

Slugged Machines
With Ice
A French electrical firm was con
vinced that one o f its consumers was
obtaining electricity fo r nothing thru
a franc-in-the-slot meter, but inspec
tors could not discover how the elec
tricity had been obtained, says T il
Bits. In despair, the consumer was
offered a monetary reward, when he
confessed that he had frozen water
in moulds to the diameter and weight
o f the coin normally used. A fter a
short time in the meter the ice melten
and left no trace.
I do not know whether or not your
pages are open fo r public discussion,
but I would greatly appreciate so mo
open views along this line either
through your columns or by letter.
W hat is to become o f the nickel mint
vender? W hat is the opinion of op
erators and manufacturers in regard
to the future o f mint venders? Are
manufacturers and operators alike
going to sit still and see all states
rule against mint venders? I hope
to see something o f this nature dis
cussed through your columns at an
early date, or to have your personal
views on this, it appears to me, al
most important matter.”
Respectfully yours,
HUGH P. A L L E N
