THE POWERFUL SUPERMAN^^ PINBALL GAME
SUPERMAN™
flies into action as the powerful
force in Atari’s newest pinball attraction. The game
has a magnetic appeal with
its
dynamic
SUPERMAN
character theme and play features. The eye-catching
graphics capture the universal hero taking off to bat-
tle evil. Within this adventurous scene the player
can experience the fast action, challenge and thrills
of the SUPERMAN pinball game.
Spectacular new play features are introduced with
this game. Central drop targets with a rotating
bonus light to award five times the score with an ex-
plosion of sounds make an extra challenging skill
shot. A new S-action return entry at the top of the
left spinner lane gives players 5,000 points and
a new chance to achieve the 1-2-3-4 lanes for
double or triple bonus. Targets at strategic
points on the playfield spell out
S-U-P-E-R-M-A-N with a ball-to-ball
memory adding suspense to the
play action and an opportunity
for 30,000 or 50,000 points.
SUPERMAN pinball fea-
tures tv70 distinctly challeng-
ing ways to earn ‘Extra Ball’
or “Special”. A combination
of drop targets and a variable
score kickout hole allows for
one high score and reward
strategy. The spellout targets
also give a chance for the op-
timum players’ goal. This is a
favorite feature due to the

players’ double opportunity to
obtain their ultimate objec-
tives.
The latest advances in elec-
tronic technology have been included
in the SUPERMAN pinball to provide
even higher reliability for operators.
New features have been added to the
built-in self-test system to allow
technicians to troubleshoot the game
even more thoroughly on location. The
high score to date is now displayed in
the attract mode to give players an ex-
tra challenge.
“The introduction of the SUPER-
pinball follows many months of
testing for optimum play features and
electronic reliability,” reported Prank
Ballouz. “This game certainly sur-
passes all and lives up to the heroic im-
age of its theme.” The momentum
builds each time a player projects the
steel ball onto the explosive playfield.
A masterful combination of targets
and play features has an intriguing at-
traction for players of all skill levels.
The SUPERMAN pinball brings a
new dimension of strength and Impact
to pin games. It is a game that will
once again demonstrate Atari’s leader-
ship in amusement game innovations.
